Terms of Service
Last updated: June 13, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Dr Brainrot for using the app. They are kept short and plain on purpose. By downloading or using Dr Brainrot, you agree to them.
1. Who we are
Dr Brainrot is an independent app built and run by a solo developer (Steven Freville, "we", "us", or "I"), reachable at support@dr-brainrot.com.
2. What the app does
Dr Brainrot lets you lock distracting apps on your own device and earn screen time by answering quiz questions. It tracks a personal Brain Score that rises and falls with your quiz performance. The blocking runs locally on your phone using the operating system's own controls (Apple Screen Time on iOS, an accessibility-style foreground check on Android).
3. Not medical advice
"Dr Brainrot" is a playful cartoon persona, not a real doctor. The app, its voice lines, and its quizzes are for entertainment and self-improvement only. Nothing in Dr Brainrot is medical, psychological, or professional advice, and it is not a treatment for any condition.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to use Dr Brainrot. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the app with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
5. Subscriptions and payments
- Dr Brainrot may offer optional paid subscriptions. Prices and what is included are shown in the app before you buy.
- Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) and managed through your store account. We never receive your payment details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can manage or cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancelling stops the next renewal but does not refund the current period.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us. Statutory withdrawal rights, where they apply, are not affected.
6. Fair use
When using Dr Brainrot, you agree not to:
- reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app except where the law expressly permits it;
- try to defeat, fake, or game the blocking, the timers, or the Brain Score through means other than playing honestly;
- use the app to break any law or to infringe anyone's rights;
- resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the app without our permission.
7. Intellectual property
The Dr Brainrot app, its name, mascot, artwork, quiz content, and code are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. Using the app does not transfer any of these rights to you; you get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it as intended.
8. The app is provided "as is"
We work hard to make Dr Brainrot useful, but we cannot promise it is perfect. In particular, the app blocking is not a security control and may fail. Operating system limits, device manufacturer battery managers that kill background services, reboots, updates, and other factors can interrupt blocking. Do not rely on Dr Brainrot for anything safety-critical or where a failure to block (or a wrongful block) could cause harm. To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided without warranties of any kind.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app, including lost time, lost data, or a block that did or did not happen. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
10. Changes
We may update the app and these terms over time. When we change the terms, we will update the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes will be highlighted in the app where appropriate. Continuing to use Dr Brainrot after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Ending use
You can stop using Dr Brainrot at any time by uninstalling it, which also clears the data stored on your device. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Where you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and disputes may be brought in the courts there.
